I Love Kit 67203 PLA Navy Type 21 Class Missile Boat

The Type 021 is the name of a class of Chinese Cold War rocket boats. Vessels of this type were built by shipbuilding plants, which are now called Hudong-Zhenzhou. The ship of class 021 was 38.6 meters long, 6.8 meters wide and with a draft of 2.7 meters. Full displacement reached 205 tons. The propulsion was provided by three diesel engines with a total power of 8025 hp, allowing a maximum speed of 35 knots.

The type 021 units were built on the basis of the Soviet Osa-type missile boats and in the 1960s and 1970s they were one of the most numerous classes of ships in the Chinese Navy. In the course of production, three main subtypes of class 021 were created. The first of them - designated as Huangfeng - was chronologically the earliest and was a relatively faithful copy of the Soviet prototype. It was armed with an AK-230 cannon, two 25mm cannons, and four water-to-water rocket launchers. A development of the Huangfeng subtype was the Hola subtype. Only one unit of this type was built. It was characterized by, among others: an elongated fuselage, more modern radar equipment or a change in the shape of the mast. The third and most modern version of the 021 class is the Houdong sub-type, which has been adapted to firing water-water missiles YJ-83 (NATO code: CSS-N-8) and has relatively modern electronic equipment. Units of this sub-type are offered primarily on foreign markets.
